My Top Ten Favorite Films – The Temporary Complete List
From a smattering of past posts, now all in one place!!! (with enabled links to full posts!!!)
This is not the 10 best films that I have ever seen, that would be a very different list. It would be one filled with classics and have a more academic feel to it. I would feel sterile and snobby. As much as I have always loved film, that is not what drew me to it.
Don’t get me wrong I appreciate the classics, I am just not sure that I would line up to watch many of them more than once or twice. The reason I fell in love with the movies was the characters and their adventures of the heart, body and soul.
The following films may not be perfect, they may not all be classics, but they are my 10 favorite films of all time.
My Top Ten Favorite Films:

- # 8 – “Stand By Me”
- # 7 – “Defending Your Life”
- #6 – “The Incredibles”
- # 5 – “It’s a Wonderful Life”
- #4 – “The Spot Formerly Reserved for ‘Star Wars’ OT”*
- # 3 – “Raiders of the Lost Ark”
- # 2 – “The Big Lebowski”
- # 1 – “Jaws”
* This designation is another edit I hope gets remedied after I watch all the films with my kids.
Addendum:
The list is already wobbly at the bottom. Since the list’s creation I have considered some films missed, including but not limited to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “The 40 Year Old Virgin”. In what is certain to be a constant, it is under review.
